| Paper Title: | The role of imaging experiments in the study of cognition: a view from linguistics |
| Abstract: | This paper will examine a few specific ways in which imaging experiments (in a broad sense) have been used, and can be used, to further our understanding of the human language capacity. We will emphasize the guiding role of linguistic theory in determining the nature of the experiments and in interpreting the results. We will ask how the issues that emerge in the study of language could inform the investigation of other systems of rule-governed behavior. |
